Promoting trilingualism and biliteracy
Our school emphasizes the development of trilingualism and biliteracy. In creating a trilingual environment, Putonghua is used not only in Chinese and Chinese History lessons, but also for morning assembly broadcasting. In addition, we arrange students of different forms to attend English morning assemblies in the hall every cycle. Students with higher language abilities are assigned as Putonghua and English ambassadors to promote the languages as we encourage students to use English and Putonghua not only in lessons but also in daily communication. Furthermore, to maximize the chance of using English, we joined the Refined English Enhancement Scheme in 2011 and have developed several teaching packs for all junior form subjects to be taught in English, except for Chinese, Chinese History and Putonghua.
